Theranica — companion app for an FDA-cleared migraine wearable
The companion app for Theranica’s REN therapy device — an FDA-cleared wearable that treats migraine. MSApps built the app that pairs with the device and guides the patient through treatment.
What we built
A native iOS and Android app that connects to the wearable over Bluetooth Low Energy, controls a therapy session, and records it. The UX was designed for a specific, hard moment: a person in a migraine episode, light-sensitive and in pain. Every screen is calm, low-contrast where it needs to be, and asks for as little as possible.
Why the UX bar was high
A medical device app isn’t judged on a good day. It’s judged mid-episode, by someone who has no patience for a confusing interface. We designed for that user — and built the BLE integration to be reliable enough that the therapy starts the first time, every time.
